The Democratic Governance Sector (DGS) in Malawi is one of the sixteen sector working groups instituted by the Government of Malawi in 2009 to facilitate the implementation of Government's National Development Plans. DGS involves the participation of representatives from the Government, development partners, non-governmental organizations, the private sector and academia. It cuts across the three arms of government: the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary and embraces all organised civil society and citizen actions in the area of democratic governance
